2019 GOALS

2019 Goals - Hydrangeas

How can it be mid-January already? 2018 was a good year for me both professionally and personally. My efforts to establish my online service business took off and by the end of the year, I couldn’t believe how much growth I had achieved. But it was a good year also on a personal level. I celebrated with my fiance our 10 year anniversary as a couple, took a week-long vacation in our favorite island and traveled to Prague with my mother. So, I was kind of sad saying goodbye to 2018 but after a much-needed break from work and a trip back home, I was ready to reset, regroup, and reenergize.

Hello 2019, I’m ready for you!

This year I have set on a good mix of work and personal goals for myself, focusing mainly on creating a balance between my personal and professional life. I love setting goals, use them as a guide in my everyday life decisions and work towards them. The progress I am making is going to help me in the long run, so I always strive to see them through the end of the year.

CONTINUE UPDATING OUR HOME DECOR… This is a never ending process but one that fills me with joy everytime I tick off one of our home decor projects. One of our goals this year is to replace our sofa with a new one. I have already started searching for the perfect sofa and I am really excited. But this isn’t the only home decor upgrade I want to work on. Living and working on the same space day in and day out makes me craving to create a home that inspires me to live in!

TRAVELING… I loved that last year I was able to travel to Prague and take a week-long vacation to my favorite island, Kithira, plus drove back home to spend time with my family a few times. This year I am aiming to make more trips abroad and in a few parts of Greece. First on my list is visiting my best friend from college in Crete. As for my plans to travel abroad on my bucket list are Rome, Copenhagen, London, Florence, and Stockholm.

CHANGE MY WORK MINDSET… I have decided that it is high time I started posting on specific days come 2019. My plan is to post every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. My ultimate goal is to post every day but I have come to the conclusion that at the time being this isn’t possible due to time restrictions. I prefer to post less but be consistent instead of going without posting for weeks.

Moreover, I think I’m maybe an over-thinker when it comes to my blog posts and sometimes I have an idea of something I want to post but I can’t commit because it seems too daunting or too much of a big project. I really want to have more faith in myself and find a way of working that works for me! I thrive having some sort of routine so this is definitely something I need to work on, finding the balance between freelancing and blogging.

I guess I just want to be more creative with my freelance projects, more candid and less of a perfectionist with my blog content, and write more from the heart!

2019 Goals - Hydrangeas

A few smaller goals for 2019…

  • become more organized in all areas of my life
  • shop less but buy more investment pieces
  • establish a new working out routine
  • increase my water consumption to 4 liters per day
  • drink less coffee
  • pass my driving license exams
  • update my home office
  • take more personal photos
  • post more phone photos
  • going green and reduce my plastic waste significantly
  • stress less
  • be present more
  • share more personal updates
  • visit more museums and exhibitions
  • have more dinner dates with my fiance and friends
  • do more of what makes me happy

LANGUAGES… One of my goals last year was to learn Spanish. Well, that didn’t go according to plan. However, working with a Latin American client for over a year, was the driving force I needed. I downloaded DuoLingo and I am obsessed with it. I’ve been doing it every day as my first task of the morning and I’m totally loving learning a language for FUN. I’m picking it up faster than I expected myself to. I plan to start online Spanish courses later this month and use DuoLingo to dust my German language skills as well.

COOKING… This is something I’m really feeling excited about too. I love cooking, baking and trying out new recipes. But last year, due to lack of time, I cooked just out of necessity and I missed the creativity and joy it gave me. For my birthday, I was gifted Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking and I am looking forward to expanding my culinary horizons. Moreover, I am looking forward to making some seasonal recipes!

READ 50 BOOKS… I read 25 books in 2018. However, I can definitely read a book a week if I am committing to incorporating reading into my everyday life. It doesn’t matter what I’m reading, I just need to read. One thing that I am still struggling is “quitting” a book I just can’t get into. I usually trudge through a bad book for months instead of just saying, “you know what, this book isn’t for me” and moving onto one that does interest me.
